چکیده
Management of waste from carbon fibre composites has become a significant societal issue as the application composite grows across many industries. In this study, fibres (CF) were successfully recovered cured fibre/epoxy (CF/EP) prepreg under microwave pyrolysis at 450, 550 and 650 °C followed by oxidation any residual char. The investigated for their tensile properties, surface morphologies elements/functional groups presented on surface. chemical compositions gaseous oil products also analysed. effectively pyrolyzed epoxy (EP) resin. Char residue remained amount char reduced temperature increased. Compared to virgin fibres, suffered strength reduction less than 20%, could be mitigated reducing temperature. clean smooth, while profile elements functional similar those fibres. main CO, H2, CO2 CH4, whilst liquid product stream included phenolic aromatic compounds.

Production of methanol from biomass waste via pyrolysis.
The production of methanol from agricultural, forestry, livestock, poultry, and fishery waste via pyrolysis was investigated. Pyrolysis was conducted in a tube furnace at 450-500 °C. Sugarcane bagasse showed the methanol production (5.93 wt.%), followed by roots and sawdust with 4.36 and 4.22 wt.%, respectively. Animal waste offered the lowest content of methanol, as only 0.46, 0.80, and 0.61 w...

This paper presents an extensive review of the scientific literature associated with various microwave pyrolysis applications in waste to energy engineering. It was established that microwave-heated pyrolysis processes offer a number of advantages over other processes that use traditional thermal heat sources. In particular, microwave-heated processes show a distinct advantage in providing rapi...
متن کاملPyrolysis Processing for Solid Waste Resource Recovery in Space
The NASA objective of expanding the human experience into the far reaches of space will require the development of regenerable life support systems. A key element of these systems is a means for solid waste resource recovery. The objective of this work was to demonstrate the feasibility of pyrolysis processing as a method for the conversion of solid waste materials in a Controlled Ecological Li...
متن کاملCharacterisation and Control of Fibre Alignment during Prepreg Manufacture
A procedure is presented for characterisation of fibre misalignment in composites. It is based on analysis of low magnification images in which the local fibre direction can be inferred from the orientation of elongated features in the image. Specimen preparation and image analysis procedures are presented and their usage is illustrated by application to a carbon fibre composite. Factors affect...
متن کاملHighly luminescent carbon nanodots by microwave-assisted pyrolysis.
Carbon nanodots (CDs) with a low cytotoxicity have been synthesized by one-step microwave-assisted pyrolysis of citric acid in the presence of various amine molecules. The primary amine molecules have been confirmed to serve dual roles as N-doping precursors and surface passivation agents, both of which considerably enhanced the fluorescence of the CDs.
